Hillsborough is on the Sheffield Supertram route which provides easy access to all that Hillsborough has to offer. The shopping area, focused on Hillsborough corner, has numerous shops, pubs and cafes, including many well knows chain stores, mixed in with independent retailers. Hillsborough is famously known for the Sheffield Wednesday football ground and the Hillsborough disaster of 1989 when 96 people lost their lives. Hillsborough has a great range of leisure facilities on offer, for example Hillsborough Park, a giant park featuring a fishing pond, bowling green with a pavilion and an attractive walled garden. Hillsborough Hawks rugby team play their home matches at Hillsborough Park. Hillsborough Leisure Centre was built for the 1991 World Student Games and features an Olympic size swimming pool complete with wave machine and slides. There is also a gym and a large sports hall. Owleton Stadium is primarily a Greyhound Racing Track which offers many great deals for a good night out. The stadium is also the home of Sheffield Tigers Speedway team and it also hosts Formula One stock car racing.
